Description
The young woman talks to the camera, first standing by her closet, then looking out the window, finally sitting on the bed. She says, " Hi… I’m from southeast Michigan. Not the city part everyone thinks of—more rural than that. I’ve spent most of my life just working. Fast food. Filing paperwork. Clocking in, clocking out. Doing what I needed to do to get by. Lately, I’ve been thinking about what else might be possible. I work out. I love to dance. Movement has always been the one place where I feel strong, where I forget everything else for a minute. I’m curious about modeling. Nervous too. I know a lot of women are doing it, and yeah—part of it is about making more money. But it’s also about testing myself. That’s why I’m here. Walking. Dancing. Spinning. I’ve never been comfortable wearing a bikini in public. Honestly, this is way outside my comfort zone. But I also know that if I face this—if I don’t turn away—I’ll get past it. I don’t want my life to be just surviving. Just paying bills. I want more than that. I want to feel confident in my own skin. I want to experience some of the nicer things life has to offer. This is me trying. This is me starting."
